Andrew Bacon has performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 1988. Andrew moved to Edmonton and began violin lessons at the age of 7. At the age of 13 he became a violist. He played with several youth orchestras including the All-City Orchestra, Edmonton Youth Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra.
Andrew received his B.A. from the University of Alberta and L.Mus. from McGill University where he studied with Stephen Kondaks. After graduation he played as a casual musician with the ESO for two years and with the viola section of Orchestra London Canada for three seasons.
Other interests include bow rehairing and repair, modern poetry, films, cycling and zymurgy.
