Tammy-Jo Mortensen completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta and a Master of Music degree in pipe organ performance at McGill University. She is also a graduate of the Master of Music (Choral Conducting) program at the U of A.
As an organist, she has performed organ solo and chamber recitals in Canada, the US, Denmark and England, has been recorded by CBC radio and television. She has recorded one CD of choral, organ, and handbell music.
Tammy-Jo was the Music Director at Robertson-Wesley United Church from 2003 to 2019 where she conducted the senior choir and two handbell ensembles.
In addition to performing, Tammy-Jo is the Operations Manager for the Kokopelli Choir Association, Music Editor for Gathering magazine, (a national publication of the United Church of Canada), hosts a radio show on bigeradio.com, and teaches privately.
