CHARLES PILON Viola
Charles Pilon has been a member of the OSM viola section since July 2016. Prior to this, he had been Assistant Principal Violist of the Edmonton Symphony (2005-2016) and violinist in the Orchestra London (2004-2005). Initially a violinist, he completed his Bachelor of Music at the McGill University under the guidance of Sonia Jelinkova and Mauricio Fuks before going on Advanced Studies with Robert Lipsett at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He furthered his studies as a violist under the tutelage of Thomas Riebl from the Mozarteum University, Salzburg. His chamber music experience namely includes an average of 30 concerts per seasons with the University of Alberta String Quartet. Pilon has performed as a soloist with the Alberta Baroque Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the National Academy Orchestra in Hamilton, Ontario.
