The 2019-2020 Alberta Baroque Ensemble Season
40th Anniversary Season
You’re invited to join the Alberta Baroque Ensemble for its 40th season of concerts and experience why the Alberta Baroque Ensemble is a premiere chamber orchestra that specializes in music composed in the 17th and 18th centuries. You’ll hear performances by some of the finest musicians in Edmonton and featuring distinguished guest soloists John Tessier (tenor), Kathleen de Caen (cello), Allene Hackleman (horn), and Charles Pilon (viola). Making their Alberta Baroque Ensemble debut will be the professional early music choir the Scona Chamber Singers who will be performing at the Music for a Festive Season concert. Works featured this season include the better known composers of the era J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel, and rarer recognized greats Vanhal, Muffat and Forster. After a highly successful season last year, the Alberta Baroque Ensemble’s 40th season will continue to prove why it’s been such a significant mainstay in the Edmonton Arts scene since 1980.
