Originally from a suburb of Philadelphia, Elizabeth Koch has been the Principal Flutist  of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 1987.

She is active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Her solo credits include the ESO, the Alberta Baroque Ensemble and the Alberta College Percussion Ensemble.

Ms. Koch is on the faculty of King's University College and maintains a private studio from her Sherwood Park home.

Elizabeth is married to ESO violinist Murray Vaasjo. She enjoys spending her spare time traveling, volunteering in her community, taking care of her cats, and being a 'soccer Mom' to their 15-year-old son Mark.
